g35 gt spec strut bar

G35 STRUT BAR -- GT SPEC

(I drive a black g35 sedan 2008)

is this part really necessary? my car is not lowered and i dont see much gain in having a strut bar if you're not racing / taking tighter corners i guess...

also i'm thinking of getting some headers...but i have stock exhaust and stillen gen 2 intake..slowly mod'ing my car...exhaust will come later because i'm a little short on money for the ones i want...anyways...will headers show any improvement in performance? or only louder sound?

OEM headers are quite good as is especially if "you're not racing" besides there are no 100% fitment headers for our cars yet, i believe even the impuls require some modifications as stated by Robby before and the stillen hit the steering rack.

FI might come out with a version soon from what i have been hearing.

Strut bar should be one of the last suspension mods IMO, if at all

Hmmmm, my strut bar improved a LOT my vehicle stability, it makes the car more solid on bumps and harsh roads. Cornering is a bit better too.

HFC's will prolly give you the most gains in terms of exhaust upgrades. and they're cheaper than headers or catback.

Wait on the strut bar. I say get Hotchkis sways first to improve your handling..
I did notice my car stiffen up ever so slightly especially up front w/ the gt spec bar, but my next suspension mod is definitely going to be the sway bars and aftermarket struts/shocks. I've heard great things about em!

Sways first then the SB later. The SB doesn't do much for handling but it looks really good in the engine bay and surprisingly it eliminated some of the squeeks in my dash.

That in itself was worth the money.

^ I will agree that sway bars first for a noticeable difference but will disagree that SB doesnt do much for handling cause it contributes handsomely with other suspension mods, it ties both your strut towers together helping nicely in hard corners.

I haven't pushed the car really hard since I installed the FSB, but haven't noticed a difference in normal driving.

Looks like a good excuse for me to do a little "spirited driving" this afternoon on the way home from work.

The front of our cars are plenty stiff as is. go with the 2-3 rear under braces that GTSPEC offers first. I have the upper front strut bar and for the most part, its just for looks.

since you're looking for a exhaust mod... Do HFC first.

As others stated do Sways as a first mod. G already has plenty of power

Unless you're spending at least an entire day doing the install yourself (with a lot of help from a friend), you can't afford headers if you can't even afford to buy an exhaust.

Strut bars only look good unless you have the rest of the suspension taken care of. Now, the GT Spec fsb I have works great and stiffens the chassis no matter what else you have, but it's not the same as the fsb they make now...

When I talked to the first outfit to make HFCs (can't remember who it was - Berk?), they told me that adding HFCs without catback doesn't really do much. No idea whether or not it's correct, but you'd think they know (especially since they'd prefer to sell the HFCs).

^ that would make some sense to me as if you reduce restriction on the cats but its clogged up right after then the gains would be limited
