Unhappy What would cause my headlight fuse to blow repeatedly?

Hello, have an 04 coupe with 06 projectors. Ive had these on for a while now.. 6+ months. No problems 'til this Monday.... so tonight I took the battery out and checked the fuse... 15A blown. Replaced it and tried it... POP! I haven't changed the bulb out yet, should I? Do you think its wiring? Whats the best way to go about tracking down a blown fuse?
Thanks for any and all advice

grounded as you have a Hot wire touching a ground...ground as in the chasis...

look for melted wires...where a a positve and neg have melted together
or a pinched wire......
or has it been raining? maybe wet connection?

does the bulb light up at all or does it blow right away, I suggest getting a few spare fuses and disconnecting one side(ballast_bulb) and then the other, this will help you trace what side the short is occurring on.

My feeling is that the short is between the ballast and bulb somewhere.

I have tried that, I took the headlight out and turned the light on and the fuse does not blow. Once I connect it to the headlight it blows. So I know its between the headlight itself and the bulb. I even tried a spare headlight with the same ballast and different bulb and it still blows. I tried different bulbs so believe its between the igniter and the ballast. Is that possible? I've throughly looked at the headlight light and cant see any burned wires or moisture. Throughout my search Ive probably blown 7 fuses. This is really frustrating, does anyone know what else I should be looking for?

edit: short seems almost definitely coming from the passenger side. it has its own fuse. one for the drivers side and one for the passenger side. only the passenger side is blowing.

It does sound like something with either the ballast or the igniter. I would probably lean towards the ballast as that's the only component external to the headlight and could possibly have water leak into it.

You could take off the ballast (or at least unplug it from the wire harness) and see if it still blows the fuse.

Yea get something with a bit more quality, check the dealer or Craigslist for a used pair.
